The Place
Crystal clear cerulean water gently laps a sucrose beach surrounded by the emerald landscape of the Virgin Islands National Park. While the beachgoer enjoys views to Whistling Cay and beyond the swimmer delights in world-class snorkeling and the famous Maho Bay Turtles. The historian and explorer will discover the numerous ruins evoking St. John’s past hidden throughout the area. The naturalist will appreciate the bounty of birds, butterflies, and flora to matching the abundant undersea life. Little wonder that Maho Bay is regularly listed among the top beaches in the world by Trip Advisor, Forbes, and numerous other organizations.

THE HOUSE
The Maho Bay House is built on the site of an estate occupied until the late 19th century. The design was guided by the principles of sustainability and fidelity to the area’s historic past.
Surrounded by national parklands, it offers unparalleled privacy and access to the world class beach at Maho Bay, a short walk away. It provides an authentic St. John experience without sacrificing modern comfort and luxury.
The home recycles stone found on site along with repurposed brick and wood. Rain is collected into cisterns for use and a solar array helps power the home.
THE PROPERTY
The property has 4 identical king size bedroom suites each with ensuite bathroom with dual vanity and private shower and private balcony with view. There is an oversized great room with large open archway leading to the great room terrace that has a commanding view of Maho Bay and a west view offering beautiful sunsets and the lights of St. Thomas at night.
The chef’s kitchen connects to the outdoor ruin dining area by a large pass through window and bar area. There is an outdoor grill and pizza oven. The oversized pool terrace and pool also have a beautiful view of Maho Bay.
LOCATION
The Maho Bay House is located steps away from Maho Bay in the heart of the Virgin Islands National Park. The recently opened Maho Crossroads offers food, drinks, and live-entertainment during the day. There are also national park hiking trails accessible by foot from the home.
The other world-famous St. John beaches are minutes away. The home’s central location makes Cruz Bay and Coral Bay easily accessible, each only 15 minutes or so away by car.
PRIVACY
Nearly all of Maho Bay belongs to the Virgin Islands National Park, providing amenities and protecting from development. The Maho Bay House is located on one of the few areas not included in the Park, offering guests a unique St. John experience seemingly back in time to a lost Eden.
DIRECT ACCESS
The Maho Bay House is ideal for guests seeking easy vehicle access and also for individuals with impaired mobility.
The steep volcanic hills of St. John provide beautiful vistas but make access to many homes challenging. The Maho Bay House is fortunate to have direct access off of North Shore Rd, federally maintained and in excellent condition. The driveway is entirely paved with ample parking and turnaround space. A jeep and 4WD are not necessary for access.
For guests with impaired mobility there are NO STEPS necessary to enter the home and two of the bedrooms are located on the main level along with the living spaces.
